We Trovesters love the excitement of the period of time known as back to school. For some, the procurement of glossy folders, crisp reams of paper and a fresh backpack is the charm. For others, it's that the kids won't be underfoot all day, every day, asking for a snack or begging for screen time because "I'm booooooooored..." For many, it's a bit of both.

But really, this back to school vibe is akin to the feeling we get on New Year's Day. A fresh start, the newness of it all... it's intoxicating, exciting and full of promise. New shoes, a stylish tin for writing instruments and the coolest of cool water bottles make sitting in class a bit more amusing. And, if the alarm clock is cute, it just might not be as annoying to wake up early for History 101.

Luckily for you and your little (or big) learners, we Trovesters started our back to school shopping months ago, so that you could do some of yours right now, in #thenoke, at The Trove.

Proud Trovesters

We Trovesters are proud to have assembled quite the creative team. From our initial group of partners, we've added bloggers, writers, photographers and a few Jills-of-all-trades. One of these creatives is the outstanding Demi Balogun. Full-time college student (she's working on a degree in Engineering), part-time blogger slash photographer slash marketer, Demi is a powerhouse and we couldn't be happier to have her on Team Trove. When you see a gorgeous image on our Instagram account, it's pretty safe to say Demi was the one behind the camera. 

So, when Demi was tapped by Harper's Bazaar as one of this year's Fabulous at Every Age winners, we weren't surprised but we were awfully proud. We know there are so many great things in store for her because she's a beautiful person, inside and out.

REWINED

Rewined Candles are a mix of some of our favorite things: creativity, gorgeously scented candles, eco responsibility and (last but not least) wine. The South Carolina company transforms used wine bottles into containers for premium soy wax candles with lush, (ha!) custom-blended fragrances. Each candle is poured and labeled by hand, with the individual candlemaker's stamp of approval. But wait, there's more!

Rewined has added bar soaps to their line and we love lathering up with these beauties. In scents like Pinot Noir, Rosé and Champagne (how apropos), we know you'll adore them, too. These handcrafted, small batch bars are cold processed and crafted with natural, nourishing ingredients like olive, coconut and soybean oils.

We're Renegades

We Trovesters started going to the now legendary Renegade Craft Fair in September of 2013, a few months before The Trove opened. Our first foray into all things Renegade occurred on Division Street in Chicago. We kicked off the day with some fantastic Bloody Mary's and thus began a beautiful and productive tradition (drinking + shopping = fun)!

Trovesters have been present at various Renegade fairs and pop-ups in a handful of spots and each one has been unique and inspiring. If you've never been, Renegade Craft Fairs are such a well-edited, high-quality makers' fair that brings together indie businesses with cool, indie- loving buyers and shoppers. It's always a scene and we always leave having made new connections, new friends and with our wallets a little (or a lot) lighter. 

Originally, we felt going to the Renegade productions in Chicago would lead us to some great Midwestern makers. While this did indeed happen, we've also met folks and businesses that hail from California, Austin and Vancouver! Renegade curates the best of the best and brings them all to our fingertips and we couldn't be more grateful for that. Lines such as Fail Jewelry, Alana Douvros, Late Sunday Afternoon, Parasol Paper Press, All Good Things and so much more, have, and still do, grace the shelves at The Trove.

Our latest Renegade adventure was in Los Angeles and while we're always good at keeping secrets, we have some exciting things making their debut in #thenoke very soon.

Go West

We are beyond thrilled to share our expansion to Big Sky, Montana. Trovester Kate, known for her passion for Montana, opened our latest outpost on June 30th, with two local partners, Hannah Johansen and Katie Craig. 

Trovesters Kate Tomkinson & Melani Wilson, with their supportive husbands in tow, worked hard (with some fun breaks in between) to get The Trove West ready for the Grand Opening.

Indiana State Pride

Hoosiers are we --- and proud to be! We adore #thenoke and #DTFW. We're passionate about Northeast Indiana and the whole d@mn state. We know the Midwest is a gem and has lots to offer. AND, we're happy to scream it from the rooftops whenever we get the chance. 

We Trovesters travel - a lot. We love seeing foreign lands, experiencing other cultures, learning new traditions and that's not likely to change. We're all explorers at heart. Perhaps the coming Fourth of July weekend has us feeling patriotic. We know America is a diverse and beautiful country with amazing assets in every state, within every region, on every coast. But we're always happy to return home at the end of any journey, because our Indiana lives are just as rich with family, great friends and the diverse beauty of our home state.

We have so much Indiana pride running through our veins and tons of Midwestern goodness in store. Come shop The Trove and show your love for the crossroads of America.
